The sidekick

I think I feel embarrassed for Senator McCain- you know, the way he tries to stand by his decision to choose Palin as a running mate. I am not sure if he is treating her like the daughters he already has but maybe wasn't quite so involved with when they were younger, or if he is trying to determine if she is the next Mrs. McCain.
And Palin- why does she seem to dote on him so much- only speaking of being his running mate and supporting him, rather than speaking up and letting us know what she will do as VP.Oh, wait...she doesn't know what the VP does, maybe that can explain it.....

Last weekend to get your shirt, by the way.....

What do YOU Stand For?

My husband asked me if my values mesh with Obama's values. He then went on to ask me if Obama's views on gay marriage and abortion are similar to mine. I am not sure how people can listen to the same debates, read the same newspapers, and watch the same news stations form completely different perspectives of the presidential candidates.
If I hear from one more person that Obama is PRO-Abortion, I think I will punch them in the knee....I don't really understand how people can truly believe that he is pro-abortion- I believe there are currently only 2 things to be pro....Pro-Life or Pro-Choice. I am Pro-keep the government out of my emotional and personal reproductive choices. I guess that is translated in Mccain terms to Pro-Abortion.
About Gay marriage- civil rights allow people freedoms across the board, regardless of race, background, socio-economic status, and I believe that the little fine print at the bottom of most legal-bearing documents includes sexual orientation. If that is the case- allow same gender couples the same rights as hetero couples. I am not supporting or negating changing the definition of marriage- that is an individual discussion between a person and their God. Once again- leave the government out of my personal decisions....seriously!
So- what do you stand for? I stand for CONSERVATIVE family values- meaning that I don't really condone divorce, I would rather not see my children as teen parents, I don't wish to get involved with narcotics on a regular basis. I DO wish to create a good life for me and my family- all the while saving the planet from the constant Drill, baby, Drill attitude of the Palin-esque citizens of the country. I want my kids to go to college, have experiences, learn from mistakes, and have me as the parent, not the government telling them what they can and cannot do.
Let me know what you stand for.....which presidential candidate most supports your values?

Well

There is really nothing else to say- it's over- McCain can retire now and try to get that blinking problem fixed.
TGFP
Thank Goodness For Palin- she has helped me decide that my views of conservatism do not match those of the fundamentalist-err...I mean Republican party.
I am a conservative...and I have heard many people spout that they are voting for McCain because of his and Palin's exhibition of conservative values.
So- let's talk about that-
If divorce is conservative- then I am liberal.
If drug abuse (pills by Mrs. McCain) is conservative, then I am liberal.
If teenage pregnancy is conservative, then I am liberal.
If leaving your special needs child with a nanny or only the father is conservative, then I am a liberal.
If the value of education is not really pertinent, then I am liberal.

So, thank you for allowing me to travel on my transforming journey to liberalism. I have enjoyed my time as a Republican, but these people have changed me....

Can I get an Amen?

Points to Ponder....

Ponder the following:

What if the Obamas had paraded five children across the

stage, including a three month old infant and an unwed, pregnant

teenage daughter?

What if John McCain was a former president of the Harvard Law Review?

What if Barack Obama finished fifth from the bottom of his graduating

class?

What if McCain had only married once, and Obama was a divorcee?

What if Obama was the candidate who left his first wife after a severe

disfiguring car accident, when she no longer measured up to his

standards?

What if Obama had met his second wife in a bar and had a long affair

while he was still married?

What if Michelle Obama was the wife who not only became addicted to

pain killers but also acquired them illegally through her charitable

organization?

What if Cindy McCain graduated from Harvard?

What if Obama had been a member of the Keating Five? (The Keating Five were five United States Senators accused of corruption in 1989, igniting a major political scandal as part of the larger Savings and Loan crisis of the late 1980s and early 1990s.)

What if McCain was a charismatic, eloquent speaker?

What if Obama couldn't read from a teleprompter?

What if Obama was the one who had military experience that included

discipline problems and a record of crashing seven planes?

What if Obama was the one who was known to display publicly, on many

occasions, a serious anger management problem?

What if Michelle Obama's family had made their money from beer

distribution?

What if the Obamas had adopted a white child?

You could easily add to this list. If these questions reflected reality, do you really believe the election numbers would be as close as they are?

Matt Damon on Sarah Palin

I couldn't have said it better myself. Well, I could have. But this'll do!

Sunday, October 5, 2008

IN RE: Sarah Palin

"She does know about international relations because she is right up there in Alaska, right next door to Russia." –FOX News Channel's Steve Doocy, gushing over Palin's qualifications, to which Jon Stewart quipped, "When you think about it, Alaska is also near the North Pole, so she must also be friends with Santa."

"I'm not sure what she brings to the ticket other than she's a woman and a conservative." –Sarah Palin's mother-in-law, Faye Palin, who said she may vote for Obama

"She's old enough. She's a U.S. citizen." --John Harris, Alaska's Republican speaker of the house, when asked about Palin's qualifications for vice president

Sarah Palin in Her Own Words
"As for that VP talk all the time, I'll tell you, I still can't answer that question until somebody answers for me what is it exactly that the VP does every day?" --Sarah Palin, in an interview with CNBC's "Kudlow & Co."

"I've been so focused on state government, I haven't really focused much on the war in Iraq." --Palin

"It's great to see another part of the country." --Palin, campaigning in Pennsylvania

Wink...Wink....

I just really can't comment about the debate at this point. If I were to get winked at one more time during such a serious situation, I was going to take a big dose of Nyquil to make sure I ward off any nightmares.
The thought of such an idiot in a place of power is scary.
She should stick to tree lighting ceremonies in towns of 500. The White House is no place for her- or her talk about energy (drill, baby, drill) and government regulations- whatever that means....
The only people that smile as much as she did during the debate are stupid people- that is because they just don't know any different.

You should really want to buy a shirt after such a pathetic display....so do it!
